The Sanctuary Choir is the church's principal choral ensemble, leading the congregation each week in worship, and participating in other events and/or services during the year. We make music within the context of biblical ministry and liturgy. We sing to the glory of God, and for the joy it brings to each and every one of us.

Beginning after Labor Day, and continuing through early to mid-June, Sanctuary Choir members meet from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays for rehearsal, fellowship, spiritual formation, and just plain fun. Warm-ups and rehearsals begin at 9:00 a.m. for our 10 a.m. worship.

The Sanctuary Choir is an all-volunteer group. Some volunteers have had musical training and years of singing experience, but others have not. The common attraction and bond lies in an enthusiasm for great music and in a serious commitment to our role as worship leaders. Concert-level performance is never our goal, though we strive for a consistently high level of music-making.

At Christmas, Easter and special occasions, we institute our ChoirPlus program. This extends, to members of the congregation who cannot make a year-long commitment to the choir, the opportunity to participate in these special, joyful services. These services usually feature special music often accompanied by musical ensembles.

The choir’s repertoire represents a wide range of traditional choral music as well as newer, contemporary church music styles. The group currently numbers between 30-40 choristers. Auditions are not required.

The Bell Choir is open to all ages. The group plays for worship on periodic occasions using a three-octave set of Schulmerich English handbells. Rehearsals are held as needed, and at the discretion of the Music Director, usually on Thursdays beginning at 6:30 pm.

The Youth Choir sings about once a quarter for special events, and is always featured at the Christmas Pageant. Rehearsals are scheduled as needed in advance of these events, at the discretion of the Music Director, usually on Tuesday afternoons from 5:00-6:00 p.m. We feel it is important to teach our children their cherished place in God's kingdom. The developing children's choir program is an important part of the Music Ministries at WPC, and is designed to work in tandem with the wonderful classes and activities of Children's Program
