LENTEN WEDNESDAY SUPPERS AND TABLE TALKS

This Wednesday, February 13

6:15 PM – Pot-luck supper (for children, teens, and adults)

6:45 PM – Bible Table Talks (led by David Graybill): Jesus’ Rejection

This Wednesday will be the second of seven suppers/Bible table talks on the theme: Through hardship to Hope.” Bring yourself and some simple, natural foods to share with others. If you need nursery-infant child care, please call the church by 12 noon this Friday, February 15 to reserve the use of the church’s babysitter for Wednesday, February 20. If, later than this Friday, you find you can come with your babysitter, we’ll be happy to make available the Discovery Room for your children and your sitter.

MANNA HOUSE: The second Tuesday of each month, volunteers from WPC help serve a meal to hungry and homeless people in South Norwalk. Set-up and preparation begins at 11:30 AM and the meal is served at 1:00 PM. We also need people to donate food as well as help prepare the meals in the WPC kitchen that will be taken to Manna House. If you would be willing to help in any way, please call Mary Marquardt at 544-8622. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated!

THE 2008 CHURCH DIRECTORY will be available at Coffee Hour next Sunday morning, February 17. Members and friends of WPC are welcome to pick one up on this Sunday or, thereafter, in the Church Office.

TEENS GOING ON THE 16TH ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL MISSION TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC NEED YOUR HELP!  As a part of their ministry in DC, our youth hand out warm hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to folks living on the streets.  We are collecting NEW winter hats, scarves, mittens and gloves in adult sizes (very clean & gently used items are OK, too) to give away to those in need whom we meet in DC soup kitchens and homeless shelters, on the sidewalks and in the parks of DC.  Please bring your donations to the church office today!—we are shipping everything down to DC ahead of our arrival, since our van space is already filled with luggage!  Questions?  Contact Jane Field (762-5514) or John Satula (762-7400).

WPC FAMILY (alias the “Rogue’s Gallery”) If your picture is NOT posted on WPC Family bulletin board in the Gathering Space, may we ask you to consider either bringing an individual/family photo and drop it in the offering plate on a Sunday morning or calling Susan Graybill (762-2916 evenings) to arrange for a Deacon to snap your picture in the Quiet/Meditation Room on a Sunday morning before/after worship between next Sunday, February 17 and Palm Sunday, March 16? Thanks.
