INVITATION TO NEW MEMBERS. We welcome friends and visitors at worship this morning. Should this be the right time and season for you to join this family of faith, please speak with the Elder Greeter, Mike Jenkins, the Pastor, or call the church office (762-5514). The next regularly scheduled Session meeting to receive new members will be Sunday, December 16, 9:30 AM in the Quiet/Meditation Room.

GOD’S PEOPLE HERE. It was our privilege and pleasure to welcome home to morning worship last Sunday erstwhile WPC members Jack and Phyllis Blessing and Bob and Honey Evans, who were visiting their children (and grandchildren!) for Thanksgiving weekend….We hold close in prayer former WPC member (and ABC activist) Bob Graham, who is recovering, after a close brush with death, slowly but surely from brain surgeries in Charleston, South Carolina. He’s tired but asking for the New York Times and chocolate. (His wife, Maureen, and daughter, Rachel, got him the Times but NOT the chocolate!). We hold close in prayer Lisa Lillie’s mother, Clare, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer; Lisa’s sister, Debra, who has been diagnosed with a mass on her breast, and Lisa’s father, who has been diagnosed with lung cancer….We hold close in prayer Ellen Mann’s 87-year old mother, Betty Hazenfield, who has been hospitalized in Nashville, Tennessee with a broken hip following a fall…Adele MacGregor is home recuperating following foot surgery on Wednesday, November 28… Congratulations to Susan and Greg Stofega at the birth of their third son, William John, on November 7th at Stamford hospital. Barbara and John Burgdorfer are the proud grandparents…We extend our Christian sympathy to Bruce Gehrlein at the death of his mother, Marilyn, on November 22nd in Laurie, Missouri.

STAFF NOTES.  The Pastor is accompanying the K-6 Mission Recovery Team to Gulfport, Mississippi and will return to his office tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY EVENING POT-LUCK SUPPERS

Every Wednesday (till Christmas at least!)

5:30 PM in the WPC Gathering Space

“Where two or three are gathered.” A mother with young children suggested that we have a potluck supper every Wednesday evening at church—for Christian fellowship, prayer, and faith sharing. A number of such families with young children—complemented by a number of older single adults—gathered this past Wednesday for supper. Any and all are welcome on any Wednesday evening your schedule permits and your spirit is inclined. All you need to bring is yourselves and some food to share with others.

PARENTS OF CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 5TH GRADE: Your children are invited to participate in this year’s Christmas Pageant, to be performed Sunday, December 23 at 10 AM morning worship.  Rehearsals are Thursdays, beginning November 29, 4:15 to 5:30 PM, plus a dress rehearsal Saturday, December 22.  Older students in middle and high school are also welcome!  For more information, contact Youth & Children’s Activities Director Jane Field, Choir Director Al Galletly, or Pageant Producer/Director Lynn Driver.  Please note: the pageant will be performed during Sunday morning worship on December 23, not on Christmas Eve.  There will be a “child-friendly” Christmas Eve worship service at 4 PM with carols, Bible lessons, a Christmas story, and the traditional singing of Silent Night by candlelight.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS AND MUSIC

Contributions are being accepted in memory/honor of loved ones for both the Music Fund and the Flower Fund. Their names will be listed in the bulletins for the 4 PM and 9 PM services on Christmas Eve. Please have your contributions (of any amount) to the church office no later than Monday, December 17. Remember to include your name as well as the names of those people you wish remembered. Be sure to stipulate either the Flower or Music Fund.
