ADVENT CALENDARS: This afternoon, between 2:30 and 4:00 PM, you are invited to come to the Lounge to put together Advent Calendars for your children or grandchildren. For each day of Advent there is a message, activity, and token gift focusing on our faith. A $9.00 donation will help to cover the cost of materials. If you are unable to come today, please call Sheri Richards at 834-2570 or email her at gscwc@aol.com to arrange another time.

CHURCH SCHOOL MISSION PROJECT:  Harvest Gift Bags. Our Church School classes have been hard at work making small gifts for our annual Thanksgiving Mission Project.  The ‘Harvest Bags’ are ready to be delivered today. Reach out and connect with someone in our church community by volunteering to deliver a Harvest Bag. We need 10 families/individuals to help with this very worthwhile project. Please see Sheri Richards after church or pick up a basket outside the Church School office. THANK YOU!

WEDNESDAY EVENING POT-LUCK SUPPERS

Every Wednesday (till Christmas at least!)

5:30 PM

In the WPC Gathering Space

“Where two or three are gathered.” A mother with young children suggested that we have a potluck supper every Wednesday evening at church—for Christian fellowship, prayer, some Bible discussion, maybe even a hymn or two.

A number of such families with young children—complemented by a number of older single adults—gathered this past Wednesday for supper. Any and all are welcome on any Wednesday evening your schedule permits and your spirit is inclined. All you need to bring is yourselves and some food to share with others.

PARENTS OF CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 5TH GRADE: Your children are invited to participate in this year’s Christmas Pageant, to be performed Sunday, December 23 at 10 AM morning worship.  Rehearsals are Thursdays, beginning November 29, 4:15 to 5:30 PM, plus a dress rehearsal Saturday, December 22.  Older students in middle and high school are also welcome!  For more information, contact Youth & Children’s Activities Director Jane Field, Choir Director Al Galletly, or Pageant Producer/Director Lynn Driver.  Please note: the pageant will be performed during Sunday morning worship on December 23, not on Christmas Eve.  There will be a “child-friendly” Christmas Eve worship service at 4 PM with carols, Bible lessons, a Christmas story, and the traditional singing of Silent Night by candlelight.

IT’S CHOIR-PLUS TIME. Yes, time once again for WPC’s annual Advent Music Sunday – often lovingly referred to as BAAAMS – (Big Al’s Awesome Advent Music Sunday). This year this special music service is scheduled for December 16th. The Sanctuary Choir, augmented by many of you who can’t commit to choir on a fulltime basis, take over and the music becomes the sermon for the day. If you would like to join in and be part of this year’s Choir Plus, please contact Al Galletly. You will need to attend at least two (preferably three or four) Thursday evening rehearsals … plus a special rehearsal on Saturday morning, December 15th. We’ll be singing some wonderful music, with the major work being John Rutter’s “Gloria” … a fabulous piece of Christmas celebration music. We’ll end up with Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. So please join us. Fill the choir risers for BAAAMS … and fill the rafters with joyous singing.

MITTEN GIVING TREE: On Sunday, November 25 please stop by the "Mitten Tree" after church (located at the coffee table) and pick a gift to purchase for a Wilton senior citizen or family at Christmas. For larger requests we encourage one or more family purchase jointly. Wrapped gifts are due at the church office by Friday, December 14 at 3:00 PM. This is a wonderful way to share our blessings with those in need in our community! Questions? Call Judy Hatch at 762-8176

K-6: WPC KATRINA RECOVERY TEAM 6

to Gulfport, Mississippi

Wednesday, November 28 – Sunday, December 2, 2007

Can you help our Katrina Mission Team?

15 people going to the Gulf Coast this month, and 6 of them are Youth Group kids. There is still a lot of work to do.  Most people are unable to take time off to go, but would like to know how they can help.  Here are some ideas:

   * Drivers are needed to take our group to Laguardia at 7 AM on Wednesday November 28 and/or to pick us up at 6 PM on Sunday December 2.  It is not necessary to have an SUV or a Van.

   * Contributions are needed to help pay for the Rental Vans, Materials Fees, and Scholarship help with Airline Tickets.

If you want and are able to help, contact Sonny Kern at 834-7654 or sonnykern@aol.com

MORE HELP NEEDED! WPC members and friends (some senior high youth!) will leave on 11/29 for another mission trip to Mississippi. Each of them may carry an extra suitcase. Please help fill this extra luggage with;

Gently used winter clothing (adult sizes) Sweatshirts? Flannel shirts? Jeans?

Christmas gifts for all ages (unwrapped please)

Gift cards from Sears, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Lowes, Home Depot (for household needs)

Think portable and packable! Drop these items in the WEPCO/Church School office any time.
