Laura is mending well from a grave illness this past summer and is looking forward to returning to her home in Maryville, Tennessee as soon as the time is right…Our prayers are with, Elaine, a dear friend of Adele and Mac MacGregor’s, who after being cancer free for 18 years after treatment for ovarian cancer, is now diagnosed with cancer again.

“Our Life Together in Christ”

Worshipping with us this morning is Anne Philbrick, a consultant with Church Smart Resources. Anne has been retained by Session to help both leaders and members of WPC discern and move into a next chapter in our life together as the body of Christ.

  • From 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM (following morning worship) Anne will meet in the Lounge with those 30

WPC members who last spring completed a Natural Church Development Survey, presenting its results, interpreting its meaning, and welcoming their questions and comments.

  • At 1:30 PM Anne will meet with members of the WPC staff concerning the implications of the survey for their work and welcome their questions and comments.
  • From 4:30 – 6:00 PM this afternoon, Anne will lead an “Evening of Conversation” with ALL Elders, Deacons,

and members of the congregation in the Lounge. Again, she will share the survey results, offer comments about the survey’s significance for our life together, and welcome leader/member questions and comments. This is a rare opportunity for all to learn and grow together in moving forward into the next chapter of our life together in Christ. Do come!

CHURCH SCHOOL: Our first Joyful Noise Sunday for this year will be today.  At 10:45 children in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade will gather in the Upper Core where they will sing both hymns and such old favorites as “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”, “Jesus Loves Me”, and “Father Abraham”.  Children will also receive communion, alternating between Presbyterian and Episcopalian traditions. Last year Joyful Noise was a great success.  Both children and parents are excited about continuing this opportunity to explore faith through music.  Parents should pick up their children in the Upper Core at the end of worship.
