UNDESIGNATED CASH CONTRIBUTIONS AT THE OFFERING THIS MORNING

(or checks payable to Wilton Presbyterian Church designated for UNICEF in memo portion of check) will be donated to the United States Fund for UNICEF and designated for the following specific project:

DARFUR: More than 3.4 million people have been affected by ethnic and political conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan. UNICEF is working with other aid agencies to provide desperately needed food, shelter and medicine for children and families now living in overcrowded, makeshift refugee camps. Examples: At Abu Shouk, UNICEF and partners have provided health clinics and latrines, as well as schools for 13,000 primary aged children. In Chad, women and children fleeing violence across the board in Darfur are given nutrition and medical care.

Since 1946, UNICEF has helped save, protect and improve the lives of children in 156 countries and territories through immunization, education, health care, nutrition, clean water, and sanitation. UNICEF is non-partisan and its cooperation is free of discrimination. In everything it does, the most disadvantaged children and the countries in greatest need have priority.

STAFF NOTES:  Youth and Children’s Activities Director Jane Field is worshipping at Zion’s Hill United Methodist Church this morning.

GILDED LILLIES: I am looking for more members to join a quiet group in our church who prepare the communion table on non-communion Sundays.  The commitment is only one week per year or more if you prefer.  The duties are to place the appropriately colored table cloth, candles, cross and floral arrangement on the table and to remove them after worship.  I will also ask the entire committee to help decorate the Sanctuary for Easter and Christmas.  I will host a floral arranging workshop to teach you how to prepare inexpensive and creative arrangements to make our worship services more festive.  We have a small table guild flower budget to help defray some of the cost.   If you are interested in helping out, please send me an email or call me at ngorkin@aol.com or 563-9116....Nancy Gorkin
