INVITATION TO NEW MEMBERS. We welcome friends and visitors at worship this morning. We’re glad you’re here! Please join us for a cup of coffee following the worship service. (Juice is available for children). Should this be the right time and season for you to join this family of faith, please speak with the Elder Greeter, Elaine Ottens,, the Director of Youth and Children’s Activities, Jane Field, or call the church office (762-5514). The next regularly scheduled Session meeting to receive new members will be at 9:30 AM on Sunday, May 20.

 

GOD’S PEOPLE HERE. We extend our Christian sympathy to Barbara Burgdorfer at the recent death of her motherSonny Gerquest was transferred on Wednesday from Norwalk Hospital to Wilton Meadows to continue healing of a wound in her back…We hold in prayer the mother of Judy Hatch, in Canandaigua, NY, who is recuperating from injury sustained in a recent fall…Jean Leinroth is recuperating at Norwalk Hospital from leg surgeries to removed blood clots earlier this week…Phil Reinertsen is recuperating at Norwalk Hospital from complications following implant of a pacemaker 10 days ago…We extend our Christian sympathy to Judy Rovins at the death of her mother, Fern Erickson, in Waterloo, Iowa last Sunday, April 29. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12 in Iowa.  

 

STAFF NOTES:  Pastor David Graybill has been visiting his Uncle Harry Goggans in Eufaula, Alabama. He will be home this evening….Custodian Jairo Mejia is on vacation from Thursday, April 26 through Monday, May 14. In his absence, former custodians Alix Williams and Steve Ragonese and a variety of volunteers will be staffing WEPCO’s custodial needs…Office Manager Susie Gross will be on vacation beginning Thursday, May 10 and returning to the office on Monday, May 21. In her absence, volunteers will be staffing the office as follows: May 10, 11 & 14, Mary Evans from 9 AM to 12 noon; May 15, Adele MacGregor from 9 AM to 12 noon; May 16, Marianne Krumm from 9 AM to 12 noon; May 17, Gail Moskow from 9 AM to 3:30 PM.

ATTENTION FAMILIES WITH 2ND GRADERS:  All WPC 2nd graders are invited to join our annual 3-part Sacrament Education class this spring to learn more about the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  This class will culminate with the 2nd graders helping elders to serve communion to the congregation on Sunday, June 3.  This program is open to children of WPC visitors and members alike.  Class will meet before worship, at 9 AM, on Sundays, May 13 & 20 and June 3.  If you would like to register your child for the class, please contact Youth & Children’s Activities Director, Jane Field, at 762-5514 or janefield@snet.net.

 

MANNA HOUSE: The second Tuesday of each month, volunteers from WPC help serve a meal to hungry and homeless people in South Norwalk. Set-up and preparation begins at 11:30 AM and the meal is served at 1:00 PM. We also need people to donate food as well as help prepare the meals in the WPC kitchen that will be taken to Manna House. If you would be willing to help in any way, please call Mary Marquardt at 762-7232 or Nancy Hayes at 761-9818. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated!
