As disciples of Jesus Christ,
We are a community of faith who celebrates the transforming and renewing power of God’s Spirit,
The excitement of involvement in response to God’s call,
The richness of the diversity of God’s creation,
The challenge of living out our faith and incarnating the word of God,
For the glory of God and the love of all humankind.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR HOMEFRONT DAY – SATURDAY MAY 3rd.  Over the years WPC has provided many opportunities for its members to do hands-on mission work.  One such program, HomeFront, uses our church volunteers to fix up the house of a neighbor in need to keep them warm, safe and dry in their own home.  In recent years we have teamed up with volunteers from St. Matthews, and this has given us an opportunity to make friends with our next-door neighbors.  Working together with them and other WPC’ers forms friendships. While we can use carpenters and others skilled in home repairs, we also need painters and unskilled helpers. The day starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM, but if you can’t do a full day, we could use you for a part of the day.  Young people 14 years and older are welcome.  The house that we will be working on is in Norwalk. If HomeFront is something you would like to do, contact Sonny Kern: or (203) 856-5934.

midnightrunOur Faith in Action Committee invites you to participate in our third “Midnight Run” (which will actually be an “early morning run”) on Sat. May 3rd.  A dozen or so of us will be travelling into NYC very early on Saturday morning for a ministry of hospitality with the homeless bringing breakfast, toiletries, and other goodies.  Children in grades 8 and up are welcome to join us on the run, but people of ALL AGES are welcome to help-out beforehand on the evening before, on Friday evening (5/2) from 7-8:30PM in Parish Hall . Our youngest members can also decorate paper bags which will be distributed to our friends in the city.

We are also in need of supplies and food items for the run… (Cereal, eggs, milk, OJ, muffins, pastries, yogurt, paper cereal bowls, paper plates.) There will be a sign-up sheet OUTSIDE OF THE CHURCH OFFICE all week as well as in the narthex after church this Sunday.  For more information, or to sign up for the run, please contact Tara Cummins at 203-834-8721 or  To learn more about the Midnight Run organization go to:
